Ali Hassan joined the Cardiac Surgery Residency program at the University of Toronto in 2022. Previously, he completed medical school at Queen’s University and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from York University. During his undergraduate medical studies, he was involved in trainee mentorship programs, surgical simulation and adult cardiac surgery research.

During residency, he looks forward to exploring the full breadth of adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, as well as further developing his skills in cardiac surgical research.

Outside of medicine, Ali enjoys Muay Thai, horse-riding, travelling and exploring new cuisines.
